Dr. Robin’s coaching practice is a natural extension of her executive educational work around leadership, career-management, work-life balance, and authenticity. Dr. Robin offers insight from research and empathy from experience to clients committed to leading to a purposeful life. She uses a variety of tools and practices to help clients.

All coaching sessions can be done on the phone. Sessions last 45 minutes – one hour. Some of the sessions are single coaching conversations, other coaching experiences are more effective if you do multiple sessions. Dr. Robin provides a money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the coaching session – you do not have to pay for it.


ASSESSMENT-BASED COACHING
All Assessment-based coaching requires pre-work.  The links for taking the on-line assessment is sent to you.  After you have completed the assessment Dr. Robin is notified and downloads your results.  We then schedule your coaching session.  All assessment-based coaching sessions include at least one 60-minute phone consultation with Dr. Robin. Reports are your personal property. After your session you receive the report.  You decide if you wish to share the entire report, any part of your report, or any aspects of our coaching session with others. 

If your organization is paying for your coaching, in most cases they will expect you to share a development plan based on our coaching session and feedback.  Dr. Robin will work with you to develop that plan.  However, you remain in charge of deciding what goes into the plan, and you will set up the appointments we key managers to discuss your plan.


BIRKMAN METHOD PREVIEW
The Birkman Method gives insight into your Motivating Interests, Leadership-Organizational Style, Relationship Strengths-Needs-Stressors, and Career Interests. One of the most powerful insights from the Birkman is that what you do is not necessarily what you really want. The Birkman gives specific information about which aspects of your behavior are in alignment with what you want, and which are not. Moreover, many people are dissatisfied because the psychological contract has been broken. They had expectations that were not met. The Birkman Method helps you identify your strengths, and communicate your expectations and needs.  This will enable you to articulate your part of the psychological contract by letting co-workers know what your expectations are, and make negotiations to get your core needs met more effective. There is also a Birkman 360 Feedback tool.

The Birkman Method sessions require that you complete an on-line questionnaire. In most cases you should plan to have four telephone meetings to debrief the results of that questionnaire. You will receive an electronic version of your report.  The cost for the Birkman Method coaching depends on which Birkman reports you wish to have and the number of coaching conversations related to them.

You may choose the Birkman preview if you want only the basic individual report. It is less expensive than the full Birkman method report.

If you want feedback or any of the reports that integrate your information with others (such as 360 feedback, a joint report with another person focused on differences to watch out for, a team analysis, or an organizational analysis) you must complete the full Birkman.

If you have already taken the Birkman, you can request that Dr. Robin be given access to your information and then use the same questionnaire you did without any additional cost for another report. In the coaching session you would then concentrate on the interpretation of the results relevant to the issue concerning you at this time.




THE MYERS BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR (MBTI)- STEP II
This personality inventory is the most widely used tool in the world for gaining insight into the information you pay attention to, your decision-making style, how you organize your life, and where you get your energy. Step II goes beyond the common 16 styles to give information about the sub-scales - helping you to hone in on the aspects of your personality that are strongest and weakest for you.

There is an abundance of research associated with the MBTI for use with harmonizing interpersonal relationships, making team dynamics more effective, managing diversity-multiculturalism, and attaining career satisfaction. Dr. Robin particularly likes MBTI for understanding deeper type dynamics and career coaching. Please call and have a conversation with Dr. Robin about how you would like to focus your time and attention if you wish to have an MBTI coaching session. In many cases, one session will be sufficient. Dr. Robin also has an audio CDs covering aspects of MBTI type development, type dynamics, type and careers, and international-multicultural uses of the MBTI.


CAREER BY DESIGN INTERESTS, SKILLS, VALUES
Interests motivate and predict career satisfaction. Values must be met for you to sustain effort and be happy. Your skills enhance your effectiveness. Using the CAREER BY DESIGN system you take charge of your career, decide what things to delegate, how to make room in your work-life for the interests with greatest growth potential, and when to work with others to cover those energy-draining work activities that nonetheless must be done.

In CAREER BY DESIGN coaching sessions Dr. Robin guides you as you identify your interests, skills, and values with probing questions and a series of questionnaires. Together you come up with the career management matrix you will use to be more strategic in managing your career options by focusing on jobs-assignments that use your best work skills, delegating and developing others to do those things you do well but would rather not do, set a plan in place for developing those skills that have the potential to enhance your career satisfaction, and get rid of, or team with others to handle necessarily energy-draining tasks. Clients tell Dr. Robin that they use the Career by Design Matrix to focus their attention on the most satisfying aspects of their work, increase their motivation, and manage performance impressions with their bosses and co-workers.

Dr. Robin also helps you clarify your values and craft your personal mission statement building on your motivating interests and values. This helps you keep your work in perspective given your entire life. There is an associated decision matrix that many clients use to decide which job-career direction to take that keeps you in your values integrity.

You then review your reviews with your job description and write your career contribution statement based on the use of your best work skills. Clients seeking new assignments, new jobs, or mentors tell Dr. Robin that the career contribution statement is one of the most valuable things they do to prepare themselves to give a short, focused, verbal account of what they have contributed to their organizations, what they would like to continue doing, and how others can help them in their careers. 

CAREER BY DESIGN coaching is truly a workshop – you do a lot of the work with Dr. Robin’s guidance and tools. And it is a GIGO process – garbage in, garbage out. So plan to do at least 4 sessions with Dr. Robin, and to spend at least 8 hours of concentrated time doing the various activities associated with the CAREER BY DESIGN system. The CAREER BY DESIGN coaching experience includes the workbook with audio CD for personal review as well as the one-on-one coaching conversations.

The Work is a powerful process for helping your chart your own mental belief map - to see what ideas and beliefs you have that may be blocking your growth, contributing to the resistance from others, and affecting your decisions in your life. Have a coaching session using the Work of Byron Katie when you are feeling that someone, something, or life in general is not as it SHOULD be. You may be unhappy with someone or something and you would like it to change. Maybe the someone you are unhappy with is yourself. The key is that you would like things to be different than they are.  When you find yourself upset with the way things are because they are not the way they should be, see that as an invitation to explore the ideas and feelings underneath the idea that your life, experience, work, mother, father, the government, God, children, boss, co-workers, etc. SHOULD be different.

When people ask what techniques or processes have made the most difference in Dr. Robin's life and happiness, she always mentions the Work. Dr. Robin has been doing the Work for more than a decade to heal and transform relationships and lead a joyful life. We really can not change others, but we can change ourselves, and we can change our minds. We do it all the time when it suits us. The Work guides us to change our thoughts and change our lives so that we thrive. 

In preparing for the Work session you will complete the work sheet – in writing. When that is completed you will go through the process of answering 4 questions about all the things you wrote on your Work sheet with Dr. Robin. Those questions are:

One: Is it true? 
Two: Can I really know that it is true? 
Three: How do I react when I attach to that thought? 
Four: Who, what, or how would I be without this thought?

Through this process you will identify and modify any disempowering beliefs. Question 4 and the last step – the turnaround - will help you strategize about how to deal with what is bothering you. You are welcome to watch Katie do the work with others on a variety of topics before deciding whether you’d like to do the work one-on-one with Dr. Robin.

Work-Life Balance coaching  requires pre-work and at least 2 telephone sessions with significant home work and email contact between the 2 phone sessions.

DANCE OF LIFE COACHING
This is a psychology-based consultation that is good for exploring issues you want to deal with in depth. In the session you frame your concern, explore the surface and deep issues, past experiences, expectations, and your attitude toward the issue.  Then you brainstorm ways to handle any challenges that are evident, and end with action steps you might take given what was discussed during the session.


ARCHETYPE LIFE WHEEL 
It is your wonderful life. Written, produced, and starring you - in 12 different roles. In this consultation we will select 13 archetypes (from 80 or so), and use an intuitive system to place each of those aspects of your personality into the 12 areas of life in which they are most active. We look at persona, money, communication, home, fun, health, partnerships, intimacy, philosophy, career, hopes-fears, and your unconscious. The roles range from Actor, Bureaucrat, Clown and Deva to Trickster, Vampire, Visionary, and Warrior. Sometimes these will match your occupation, sometimes not. Sometimes they will be expressing in a healthy way in your life, sometimes not. The 13th archetype is the Nexus, the integrating force for keeping the other 12 archetypes working together to maximize your growth potential.


ASTROLOGICAL HOROSCOPE
Many people read their daily horoscope but have never had a complete astrological chart done. With accurate time, date, location of your birth, you can have your personal chart, a computerized report, and a consultation that prioritizes the core life themes described by your heavenly life map.  Charts are done only at the request of, and for the person actually getting the astrological coaching session.
